Hi,
Think there are plug ins for Illustrator – you could use the search facility to check previous threads. I have Flexisign Pro and Illustrator – if you save Illustrator as version 3, it opens straight into Flexi sign.
The Flexisign Pro is expensive though – you could try Flexi Letter which is cheaper (Granthams are one of the sellers of this software) which I would assume also opens Illustrator ver 3 files. Think using flexi rather than a plug in would be a good timesaver and money well spent.
Hope helps.

I can’t agree about Flexi being money well spent. I bought a copy of FlexiCut some years ago and struggled with it for a fortnight before consigning it to the bin.
If all you want is to cut vinyl from Illustrator I would have though that a plug-in would come in the box with a new Graphtec.

We have Flexisign Pro and we find that for basic design it is much quicker than illustrator, also the production manager – which carries out the plotting is very feature rich and in my opinion well worth the money, it has functions such as the ability to stack jobs, stack jobs by colour, create automatic weed borders, test for sufficient vinyl to plot the job and so forth
that said perhaps one of the lower levels of flexi, coupled with illustrator might be a good option.
in terms of familiarity if you are used to illustrator you will find flexi very intuitive with a few more practical functions for sign making than illustrator
For more complex design layouts and drawing you cant beat illustrator.

I think you’ll find it is rather different now.

It would need to be. It was dire. 😀
Point taken though. I’ll have another look at it.

You deffo get a illustrator plug in with the new graphtecs, 2 discs with it the cutter driver and the plug ins for various software.
