I have been asked to quote for an iron type sign …scroll work with inset brass or cooper letters,
Been described as the top part of the old iron gates seen in the movies,
Does any one know of any good blacksmith/metalworkers that do this type of work
    Cheers

Hi Simon I use a local blacksmiths, I tell him what I want, give him some sizes and designs, I usualy plot the hangers out on to paper at 50% smaller than I need them, they do gates all the time but usually only local stuff within about a 50 mile radius, there are loads of people out there doing this sort of stuff, if you’re in a city then you may struggle but in any rural area just pick up the local papers.

Not done the job yet Danny,

Gave the guy a price, but he wants designs before placing an order….
He has an architect doing drawing for his flats conversions, but not the sign…probably because he will charge him big bucks.
I will have to wait and see.
