  • Insurance catagory for a laser engraver

I have been asked this question by one of our customers, does anyone specifically have an insurance policy for their laser engraver, or would you say it would be covered by building and contents insurance anyway.

    Regards
    Nigel

Would depend on the policy Nigel, all insurance companies seem to vary with expensive equipment, think for my policy I had to show proof of any item valued at over 4 grand. Might be a higher figure now as that was a few years ago.
Plus I had to show that I had made some sort of effort to stop expensive stuff being removed from the premises, especially stuff that could be wheeled about.

Cheers Martin that will help give my customer something to ask about before deciding on a policy.

Be careful with laser insurance , lasers catch alight real quick , mostly if left cutting unattended
Make sure you are covered for all eventualities with the machine (especially fire) or fire extinguisher damage.
Im not in England , but we had to specify our lasers and put them on all risk which was a lot more expensive than just putting em in the general machinery on premises content cover.
