  • Installing a sign at the forge

Hi all, been instructed to install a sign within the forge in Glasgow. It has to go above the shop front. Seems straight forward? However above the shop there is a spandrel glass about 12mm thick in 900mm x 740mm sections.

1: has anyone installed here and could offer advice.
2: Any opinions on using angle iron And vhb tape as a support for the box?
3: Main issue is there appears to be limited fixing points.

Any help/ advise would be appreciated.

Who gave you the instruction to fit it…I’d be sorely tempted to ask them how they would propose fitting it or check out any other shops.

Architects especially can have some seriously stupid ideas about sign installation figuring that ‘it is only my job to design it…not my problem to make or fit it’.

I’d normally chip in a couple of ideas for fixing but glass and signs is a bit of a bug bear with me..if it’s fitted well enough not to FALL off…then it’s getting fitted well enough to NEVER come off…not ideal when that person leaves and they fancy changing the signs.
