Incorrect signage installed in Folkestone

A sign installed to promote Folkestone landmarks to tourists has not been printed correctly. The signage, which has been erected by Kent County Council on Cheriton Place, directs visitors to the Leas Cliff Hotel rather than Folkestone’s famous Leas Cliff Hall.
Christopher Smith said: "Pointing left is towards the precinct and right is towards Sandgate and Hythe." "That means that according to this sign, The Leas – our biggest permanent attraction – is down Sandgate Road, towards the Harbour, and Folkestone Central station is towards Hythe." "However, when you follow this sign up Sandgate Road, there’s another sign towards Central station that sends you BACK DOWN Sandgate Road again towards this sign."

"BUT, the best one of all is the sign on this post that sends you to the ‘Leas Cliff Hotel’. I’ve lived here a long time & don’t recall there ever being such a place." "Do you think they might mean the Leas Cliff Hall?"
Sandgate parish councillor Tim Prater said:
quote :“Nice signs @Kent_CC are putting up in Folkestone. Out of interest, where is the Leas Cliff Hotel? #HeadDesk.”The authority has yet to respond. The blunder follows a similar incident in which Shepway District misspelt a word on a sign at the Leas Cliff Hall car park. Instead of “other regulations may apply”, it reads “other parking regulations may apple”.
Callum McKenna tweeted:
quote :“I think @shepwaydc should look into getting some new proof-readers! Anyone else spotted this?”SDC has yet to tweet Mr McKenna back.
The sign which was incorrectly installed baffling both locals and tourists, has now been covered up to spare Kent County Council’s blushes.
