    Hi All

I’ve got a VersaCamm VP540. I have noticed that the blade has touched the media clamp a few times before as I can see the score marks on it, but I noticed it at the time, changed the blade and it doesn’t seem to have done it since.

My latest problem is that it will cut some parts of a job fine, and other parts it will just score the surface, so that it is impossible to weed the job. I generally use Scotchcal 50 series and cut at between 80 and 110 depending on how sharp the blade is, but cannot work out why it should be inconsistent on the same job. The machine is 1 year old (and just out of warranty!)

    Any advice gratefully received.

    Thanks

    John

The pressure you use is much the same as my sp and when cutting after laminating I go to 195, the only thing I can think of is the cutting strip is damaged.
    thanks Rich

slow the cutting speed down to about 300 – 400, with a half dull blade it can ride out of the vinyl at speed.
