I need to import some Illustrator artwork into Omega.
As an interim measure, I have found someone to print my labels, but as it says , I have produced the artwork with Illustrator.
He is also willing to let me do my artwork with his Omega setup, so any new artwork, I will do this way until my software issue is sorted.

    First, is this possible
    second , How ?

Thanks for your continued patience guys.

Hi Paul, Omega imports Illustrator files so what’s your problem?

I have imported an eps file to work on but it flags up a Rip error and it is only an image – I can’t work out how to edit it once it’s imported – if that’s possible .

If you are working with an old version of omega
it may not like recent illy files, try saving them as an earlier version

The Omega version is a recent one, I believe – 2.6

I will be spending a lot of time on it this weekend and will try a few things and report back 😉

we transfer Corel to Omega daily, we use a legacy AI format which is one of the other drop down filters on Import. However it will only do what Omega knows, if you Omega is connected to a printer, then I cant help you as our is just cutting.

Thanks Dave, that may well be the answer.
Omega is newly installed to do the artwork, so basically has no printer or plotter attached yet.
Will be setting it all up this weekend to do some trials.
    Thanks again.
