  • Impact Vehicle Library Template Query

    Hello peoples,

I’ve been using Impact Vehicle Library templates for a while now and have come across a few issues mainly with the window areas not being accurate on some vehicles. Are these templates just a rough guide for mainly lettering or should they be 100% precise?

It could be I’ve got the vehicle model wrong but I’m getting the feeling that it’s a running theme. If this is the case can anyone suggest a more accurate template solution.

    Thanks in advance.

No they aren’t 100% accurate. Certainly not for doing the window panel areas.

no vehicle livery software is 100%, and impact is the best of the bunch.
templates are purely a guide, if used in the proper fashion you should never need to measure a van unless for wrapping or creating reflective kits etc.

when the customer has gone, I usually reduce the size of the signage by 10%, that seems to be a reasonable rule of thumb for much of the impact content… which is as good a set-up as I think is available!

The Impact library images are very good for overall scaling but, as Robert says, none of these type of software packages are 100%.

I always get the customer to send me as good an image as they can manage (never via a text message because of compression of the image), with an accurate measurement between 2 fixed points. I then scale their photo to the overall dimensions (length/height etc) of the outline and the dimension they sent me. This then allows you to very accurately scale text/images to their particular vehicle and also allows me to make changes based on any fittings/mouldings on their vehicle that may not actually be on the outline drawing.

I love it when the customer wants the graphics right up to the edge of the panel. Knowing they aren’t spot on, we do the same, reducing it again when they leave the shop.
