  • Impact Vehicle Graphics -Demonatration Available?

After my last post relating to vehicle outlines (Now have a brand spanking copy of Impacts – 😀 ) I was wondering if there is any demontstrations /tutorials on how to make the most of the software?
I use it at the moment – I am very very new – to send an image of what the vehicle will look like at the end of the day. In other words, i do not use it to scale up my graphics. I have watched the signlab video in the demo forum, and as great as it looks, it does not show how to plot the graphics in real scale.
    Hope that makes sense…?

Craig, just about all of the template software out for vehicles are based off a 1:20 scale so for your final cutting you need to scaled that @ 2000% and it will be full size. Tell us what software you are using and version and I am sure someone will be able to help in no time.

I am using Adobe Illustrator. I have just done a sample. Tranist, across 2 rear panels (Should be around 2metres). When i go to plot, it is wanting to plot at 135.51mm
Where as if i now (thanks) change the scale to 2000 as suggested, it is 2.7m (ish) – Does that mean that is the right size to fill the panels i wish to?
If so, Thanks, you have saved me a lot of time… 😀

sounds like the difference between a LWB and a SWB

with all the drawings common sense prevails

It is a MWB van. Sorry if it is a little simple for you Chris. Unfortunately we may not all be blessed with the ability to do everything correct first time, or second or third!! 🙂

I have found on many occasions when I have saved something in illustrator at a certain size, when I then open it it in flexisign it changes the size of it, is this what you mean?

I always draw a line or create a box at 100m x 100mm then open Flexisign and resize everything via the box.

Apologies if i have got the wrong end of the stick. hope it helps.

Thats a good logical idea Stephen.
The issue i was having was, hopefully as described. My vehicle image is on screen, with my design. I go to plot (I use Finecut plugin) and the graphic is far too small (I haven’t cut it – im just previewing it in F/cut). Do i the need to resize to 2000% to get the required dimensions. I think i do as dexcribed earlier by George. It looks right, sounds right. May even be RIGHT!! 🙂

I use the AI file and scale up 1000% then 200%, some programs do not let you scale 2000% in one hit.
