I Need To Find Out What Vinyl It Is I’m Using
I bought a joblot of vinyl, mainly 1 metre offcuts.
Most of it was HEXIS, i’ve just used a 800m wide piece which is alot thicker, and has a much heavier backing paper than the other stuff. It was a pleasure to cut and weed, especially with a 60degree blade.
All I can say is the backing paper has light blue HEXIS watermarks on the back.
Is there anyone out there that uses HEXIS and can help me out to find what specific vinyl it is so I can get some ordered.

Phone hexis, they will be more than happy to advise,
and if you ask nicely, they will send you a sample pack

Blue liner indicates a Suptac S5000 8-10 year polymeric- I love this material and use it whenever I can. As Peter said- ask Hexis for a sample pack and you’ll be suprised by the range and service.

Blue liner is EcoTac not Suptac. A 5 year monomeric material.

Yes, I stand corrected- it is EcoTac sorry for the confusion 🙄
Just today I was overlaying some coloured etch and was sure it is monomeric- it had a grey liner, hence the instant assumption, as the job was running like a bleeding nose… It turns out it was polymeric 🙂 as well…Robert

Just got off the phone with Hexis. Very helpful, and they are sending me some swatches for ecotac, supatac, some cast vinyl, and some wrapping vinyl.

I don’t use Hexis vinyls so can’t comment on their range but if it is a monomeric vinyl as John Hughes has said be careful what you use it for. They are not conformable and really only suitable for flat panel work, they generally shrink a lot over a period of time so I don’t bother to keep them in stock, I prefer to keep a slightly better quality vinyl as the price difference isn’t really that much per job.
I would only ever really use them for really short term stuff as I think the black lines you get around graphics when the vinyl shrinks looks really bad.

I normally use JAC Serical 5 year Monomeric, which I found to be rather good compared to similar KPMF and Avery products. But I have never really used HEXIS before so going to try it, mainly for small decals.
