Not a fan of Hexis for cut vinyl work, but do have some nice wrap films etc. and haven’t tried any Hexis digital media.
In Europe, and on par with Metamark Cut vinyl media and same cost wise i would say Mactac 9800.
Used that film for many years and really liked it before switching to Oracal.
I have tried every leading brand of cad-cam cut vinyl media over the past 26 years and I cannot see by Oracal 751c or 551.
Of those two 751c is a brilliant film, most cost effective Cast I know with a great colour range and performance I cannot fault. Not the easiest film to install for many as it is a cast, but thats not a fault of the film, more the applicator.
551 has a great range and great all round sign vinyl.
Application Tape
Same as above, tried the lot and revert to Oracal paper application tape every time.
Digital Film
I have tried a lot. Used Oracal the longest and most of…
3M digital I think gives a more vibrant print. (based on our machines)
Metamark MD5 is very good too, but i don’t like the paper liners on both 3M and Metamark. but thats just an installation preference for me. Both still print very well and occasionally still do use.
Currently Using Arlon digital and Arlon Digital wrap. I like the wrap media, but in two minds on the polymeric digital calendered. Prints great but find it a bit thick feeling once laminated and doesn’t inspire me a lot of confidence when i install it on anything but flat surfaces and by that i don’t in any way mean wrapping or even close. :lol1:
Still a fantastic film and still i use it today.
I only switched away from Oracal digital because i couldn’t get an exact colour match on our HP Latex machines for a large order. Oracal digital can also be a "little" tacky when it has been printed. which can slow down installs for our lads .
I am sure you have good reason, but you appear to keep a bit of a wide range of media. We dont, yet i have been doing my damndest to reduce our range and stock the past 12 months and probably another few months to get where i want to be. 😀
