Prices and packages
Brian may even give you a bit off if you mention the uksignboardsPeter

Cheers Peter. I would of tought that sugnlab Vinyl would of been ok for your everyday signage like being able to do outlines and vector converts etc etc.
-
Ade i have just checked my email and there is nothing there
-
Result!!! spoke to that impact place today and they have told me signlab have reduced their price of the vinyl package. Instead of £600+vat its £350+vat. So i am going to be ordering on Monday
-
Hi Matt
Would this be due to the lower VAT Rate Monday M8 😉
Paul 😀
-
good news Mat, did you tell Paul/Brian to hold on to my commission.?
Peter 😉
-
Lower VAT rate on Monday i dont know what you mean 😉
Not that its going save a fortune but as tesco say, Every little helps. Will tell them on Monday Peter. :lol1:

£350+vat is the crossgrade price for Signlab version 8.0. To qualify for that price you must have an existing competitors package.
It is a new deal as pre version 8.0 there was never an option to crossgrade to Signlab Vinyl.
-
Matt, I have just dropped you an email please have a quick read. And I will speak to you next Monday. 😎
-
so when you have a ‘competitors package’, do you have to surrender the dongle?
-
What qualifies as a competitors package?? Illustrator? Omega? Never used Signlab before is there a huge difference between the above?

No, you just need to photocopy/scan it & let Cadlink have a copy.
It’s just so you can’t give/sell it to somebody else & for them to crossgrade it again I think.

Jason, I will ask Cadlink tomorrow for a comprehensive definition. I think they describe it as a Professional Sign Making Package. That would generally be one that is dongle protected i.e. Flexi, Omega, Graphix Advantage, Casmate, Castop, Sign BLazer etc.
I don’t think Adobe Illustrator qualifies as it’s not a dedicated Sign Making Package.
-
No worries, we use Omega sometimes but prefer Illustrator, I would be interested to know the differences and if it’s worth crossgrading.

It’s a bit sketchy on their web site…

"Are you currently using sign software? A generic design/graphics application?"
It would seem possible? although Cadlink’s UK’s policy may be different here than it is in the U.S.

The best thing would be to get a demo version sent out. Then you can take a look for yourself.

Hey I do all my digital print designs in M$ Paint, I must qualify for a crossgrade surely 😳
-
Have spoken to Cadlink. You are ok with Corel Draw or Illustrator, you just need to supply the serial number for the product.

If you already have a Large Format Printer it is safe to assume that you also have a RIP. SO could X-Grade from that. Thus no need for that extra piece of cracking software. :lol1:

I started with a DOS program called VinylWriter from Wight Scientific.
Now that took some working out!

Does this work the other way I.E I’m using signlab 6 and I have been quoted £550 for each system (I have 2) to upgrade to Signlab 8.
If I decide to go to a competitor would Cadlink offer me the upgrade for £350?The other thing Brian what version of signlab are you getting for £350? I run colormaster. Which I’m told is the top version. So that could be the reason for the upgrade price.

Shaun, the £350 is for Signlab Vinyl.
There are 3 pacakges Vinyl, Vinyl Pro & Print & Cut.
If you upgrade your packages they will go to Print & Cut.
The retail prices are £600, £1300 & £1900 respectively.
You will get a little discount on the 2nd package of 10%. So one upgrade would be £550 and the 2nd would be £495.
A comparison on the 3 different packages can be found here…..

Signlab Vinyl has recently been reduced from £800 to £600. In version 8.0 there are also a lot more features then there used to be in previous version. There also wasn’t an option to x-grade before. These factors combined make the £350 a very good deal for somebody buying their 1st Signlab. It’s aimed at people with basic design programs. Not really for existing customers like yourself.
