    HI
    does anyone know the profile settings for printing on HP 5500 using uv inks. We are printing onto contra-vision, also using a posterjet rip.
    at the moment the inks wont dry properly onto the media.
    Have spoke tp HP, they cant / wont give profile? (?)

    any ideas chappies and chappess’s

    Hi,
    HP UV inks are water based so are unlikely to adhere to PVc vinyl even if they do dry. They’ll only sit on the surface of the vinyl. You would need to print the contravision with either eco-solvent or solvent inks.

    i`ve noticed that graptype give you profiles for the printer you use, when you buy the materials from them

    HI Frank, Forget trying to print Contravision with an hp5500 , its a great machine but not for un-coated media , if you have someone friendly nearby with eco / full solvent best to get in touch with them , if your not sure get in touch and ill give you a couple of names. Robert could do it for you.
