    Hello to you all!
My name is Toby Terry, I own Signs & Graphix,Inc.
Started out as an apprentice sign painter back in 81, about starved to death, got out of it, and about 3 years ago started in again with computer and used gerber 4A, and now have full retail shop with 4 employees!
Great you say?? ha, I love the sign biz, I just eat and sleep it, but business is hard, and headaches and heartaches. But I love it.

My only sanity seems to come from when I finally sit down late at night and sign on to this board and enjoy reading about all you great sign people and learn that I am not alone in the struggle and the love by any means!

Please be patient with me as I learn some of the wording and terminology from the UK that I am not familiar with.

What the heck is a aluminum tax disc?

    Thanks!

    Hi Toby 😀

    Welcome!!!!

You must be the first person to feel sanity when you come on here 😆

An aluminium tax disc is a disc (holder) that holds the car tax license thingy that we have to pay for to put our cars on the road (grrrrrrrr, & it costs more to run your vehicle every year)!

    😀

    Here’s a big Pennsylvania HOW-DEE!
    This is a nice place.
    The terminology is easy.
If they say “bril” that means good.
    “mingin” is bad.
If they call you a Tattie Bogle, watch out.
    Love- JILL

    Hi Toby,
Glad to have another international signmaker on the site. You’ve done good to get up and running with 4 employees in only 3yrs. I’m still struggling on my own after 11 😉 but I love it really as you say ..!!
