  • How would i go about creating a union jack boat decal?

    Hi all

looking for a bit of advice please, a customer has seen this boat & wants the same Union Jack on his. How would i go about creating this?

the solid black part isn’t a problem I can draw that easy enough, the faded part is where I am struggling. Software wise I have Photoshop CS2 and CorelDraw 12.

Also once created I was thinking of printing the faded part on to clear wrapping vinyl & laminating would this last when the boat is in the water?
The other part would be black cut vinyl.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

    thanks

    Neill

Saw this boat today in kidderminster and yes the faded section is printed on clear and should be laminated with a film laminate not liquid lam.

In photoshop either use the eraser tool at varying degrees of opacity, or use a selection tool and then, select, modify, feather until you get it right.

With that design being square, and the design on the boat curved to the shape of the hull you might have to alter it to avoid wrinkling.
