  • How to stop vinyl creasing coming out the machine

    I’ve got a FC-8000 130.

I’m cutting some vinyl for a van I am fitting on Friday, trouble I am having is there’s some long pieces of text, about 2m in length using 1230 vinyl.

When cutting these the vinyl keeps creasing when coming out of the machine and going into the basket.

I’ve slowed down the cutting speed, and set CM2 to ‘restrict media movement’

Still it keeps happening. Getting a little frustrated as I usually weed one set whilst the next is cutting.

don’t use a basket but with the wide stuff sometimes needs a flick of the finger in the middle of the free vinyl just before it wants to crease.

We too often found this problem when cutting long pieces of vinyl (when we bought a new plotter with a basket) After getting sick of the vinyl creasing/ running off, i decided to babysit the plotter when cutting and turned out that the vinyl used to hit the basket /pole that supports the basket and that is what would cause it to crease and run off, so we removed the basket and no longer have the issue (but also make sure there is enough clearance in front and behind the machine or you will still have the same problem)

I was hoping not to baby sit machine all the time as I am mad busy.

Space is tight so might be a cause too, I can’t wait to move!!! 😛
