Hi guys, using x5 and basically I want to use a whole picture on the side of a vehicle outline (impact) my question is, how do I cut out the image so it fits inside the side view vehicle template on the whole of the vehicle except the windows?

    any help would be appreciated

    Cheers

You can also use a feature called "Powerclip" in Corel as discussed later in some of the replies

    Hi Mo,

easiest way is powerclip (as phil says).

copy the entire vehicle outline and then break it apart, delete everything except the shell outline, so remove windows, lights, wheels, handles, swage lines, everything.

now scale the image and the outline, select the image, click effects>powerclip>place inside container and then with the chunky arrow, select the outline, the image will now fit within the lines,

    however

it’s never exactly where you want it so effects>powerclip>edit contents

edit as you see fit then effects>powerclip>finish editing at this level.

now i’d take another copy of the vehicle outline, delete only the main shell, group and put to top layer of page, then simply place it over the top of the powerclip, the lights, windows etc will all be in place.

thats on corel 12 but i’m certain it’s the same on X5,

lol, should have checked link first, pretty much what phil has done in the link above!
