I recently subbed a job out because the stickers needed die cutting.

I’ve made the plotter perf cut a thick PVC, but can’t get it to perf cut vinyl neatly.

I have another regular customer who I cut stickers for. I’d like to be able to contour cut the stickers, weed, apply the app tape then perf cut them into sets.

I’ve experimented with it, but can’t seem to perfect it.

Is it possible or am I just expecting too much?

i only do it if i really have to but never done it with app tape on.

has the 8000 got a separate cutting strip for this and do you set perf cutting in the plotter menu

on my 7000 i have a felt cutting strip that saves the blade and found best not to weed first so the perf cutting cuts vinyl as well as backing paper.

Yes the 8000 had a channel in front of the cutting strip. I just move the blade holder and set it in the menu. Just can’t get it cut cleanly.

Do you set the plotter to pounce? Or cut it as a solid line?

Think I stumbled on this by accident.

Sent the plotter to cut, on the wrong condition and it cut perfectly through the vinyl and backing paper.

Just need to put the blade in the right position to save the cutting strip.
