  • How to match RAL number?

Posted by Michael Winfield on 12 April 2011 at 13:13

    Good Afternoon!

I’ve been asked to make some sign’s to stick to some racking, i’ve been giving the RAL number that the racking is sprayed (RAL9001). I’ve matched it as close as i think i can (C:0 M:0 Y:8 K0). but when i put them on top of each other the printed sign looks a shade of green.

How to do you guy’s match RAL numbers?

    Mikey x

if you are on versaworks print the pallet out and choose.

if your printing a coloured text then find some vinyl the right colour and just print the text preferably black.

was going to say doubt you can see 8% yellow very pale.

RAL 9001 is a very light cream colour.

Closest I can get on my process swatch is C:0 M:5 Y:15 K:0

i print a load of patches then visually match it to the RAL colour…

You need to go with the nearest you are happy with

I’ve been printing small squares of color out all day and at about half 5 i found one i liked and was close enough to do the job.

so really there isn’t and answer to my question, its just trail and error.

    thanks for your help guys!
