    Hi Warren,
there is, but unfortunately i dont know how to do it. The technician prints one for us every time he comes over (and i keep forgetting to watch him do it). It is interesting reading!!! Someone with the tech manual will hopefully help you, or you could try a quick call to Roland.

    cheers

    Dan

I’m afraid Roland is not going to help…

You need to get into the service mode – and from there you can do all sorts of things to make them very unhappy…

I used to know how to get into the SP300’s service mode, but forgotten long ago.

I now simply ask the Technitians who service the machines once in a blue moon to give me a printout.

All sorts of info, like how many ink carts used, how many shots via the printheads, how many hours worked, how many times it went into sleep mode, how many hours the heaters / feed motor / scan motor worked, how many (and which) errors were displayed, how many power interruptions etc etc.

Would love to be able to do it myself for the SP540v and RS640……

Any ex-Roland engineers willing to part with the details? Pleeeease….

I would have thought the simple details would have been accessible for your own reference for your own machine as well as when you want to sell the printer it would be good info to be able to pass on to a prospective buyer.

    I would guess its:

    Power off then

D,R,L,U,R,D,L,U, then hold together LRD + on.

Then print the detailed report that has everything in it.

But I’m only guessing 😛 I’m no service tech.

Guessing if it doesnt work the first time try it again.

It does vary from printer to printer, Jason is right for some printers, others have different combinations. The Grenadier I repaired yesterday was backwards S backwards V but I have to try various combinations on every other printer as I can never remember them first time and I’m too lazy to consult my service manuals every time 🙄 :lol1:

I would NOT recommend any user to enter service mode though, you can change a lot of things in the service mode and this can upset calibrations, voltages, ink types and so on. If you’re unsure about it, don’t touch it!! Get somebody with some experience to at least talk you through exactly what you need to do.

    D,R,L,U,R,D,L – L,D,R(all together) + Power on(all this in less then 5 sec) –.> service menu—> History Report

    Good Luck!
