    Really struggling here….

Trying to convert an illustrator path to a cut line in Versaworks. Maybe you can see where I am going wrong.

I have created a solid path in illy CS3.

I have coloured it using my CutContour spot colour in illy.

I have saved the file as an EPS 3,4,5,6, to CS3 and as a PDF but still Versa fails to see that there is a cut line.

I have been searching high and low on-line for the answer. It’s probably staring me right in the face…

All thoughts most welcome and appreciated.

    Thanks guys

    Hi,
I don’t work from Illustrator much, but all I can suggest is check the thickness of your cut path, too thick the rip does not process it. the other thing to check is that you have the process cut path turned on in the rip.

    Hi
I think Frank is right, I believe it will only work with a 0.25 stroke line, with the CutPath being the stroke colour. Also the colour set for the cut line needs to be named "CutPath" – capital "C" capital "P" with no spaces.

Stupid system if you ask me!!!!

Anouther alternative is I can send you a working file with a cut line on which you can just copy on to your file?

    Cheers
    Nick

also make sure you have the EPS margin set to 1mm in Versaworks
go to queue properties > file format > EPS margin, you need this to see the cut line in Vesaworks. and you need to send it as EPS 3

    Hi
do you have a file margin set up in VersaWorks, if not double click on one of the folder on the VersaWorks main page go to File Format top of the page is EPS margin set that to 0.35 then save see if it cures your problem.
