  • How to attach Aluminium composite to a post

    Hi

Can anyone suggest the best method / supplier of parts, to attach aluminium composite signs of approx 450mm x 200mm to a metal pole. Exterior use.

    Thanks
    Kelvin

VHB tape a short length of channel on the rear then a post clamp.
Should only need one clamp for a small board.
That would be my method, but could be expensive as a one off unless you have the channel and tape in stock.

    Thanks Stuart
Who would be a good supplier for the fixings / channel (or are you not allowed to say on this forum?) 😕

    Righton, Ashby or even tofco.

Probably a few listed in the TOOLBAR

If you are really stuck – it’s likely that another local signmaker will carry stock.

To be honest by the time you have bought in all the gear you would be better just buying in the blank from somewhere like Blackburns, it will then have the rail fixed on and ready to go. Seems an awful lot of trouble for such a small sign.

    Cheers

I got my channel form Solar, seem to remember about £15 for a 4m length but don’t quote me.
VHB it to the back of the tray and a post clamp.

Like Gary says though I usually just buy the blanks from Ashby but some small one off jobs are easy and you can make your outlay back quite quickly.

Also to keep costs down I tend to order extra clamps etc when getting a sign blank that way you’ve already covered the postage.
