    Good evening all,

I’m asked to install 120m2 of frost or digital print.

I need to remove all 120m2 vinyl after 6 days.

What material shall I use to apply on the glass that already is frosted and not damage the existing frost?

    Many thanks in advance

Definitely cover yourself that you can’t guarantee you won’t damage the existing frosting.

Just to be clear you want to cover existing frosting with digital print and strip 6 days later?

Cmyuk do an incredible static cling product that is like a solid vinyl. Gel tac or something it’s called. I’ll double check the name in the morning. It’s pricey but perfect for this application.

Was going to suggest a static cling or metamark do a low tac vinyl that’s ment for labels etc.. so you can stick to stuff without damaging. We were going to use it for a removals company so called printmax but never got as far as ordering it. I’m pretty sure it can 1370 wide.

Perhaps an easy dot material, but I’m not 100% sure on glass, if condensation formed behind it, it may loose adhesion.

Thanks Andrew. Correct. My vinyl will be applied on the face of the frost vinyl. (On top of the frost)

There is no budget for removal – so client wants to be able to remove this easy by himself

    Thanks David.
    I just googled easy dot.
    Never heard of it.
    This actually might work.

I’d go the easy dot route, i’ve used quite a bit of it for work that’s going to be up for a week or two.

Don’t let the client see how easy it is to fit or you’ll lose future install work [emoji23]

We use easydot quite a lot on internal glass panels for a museum. Its brilliant we have installed and removed over etch vinyl with no problems. I would always advise a quick test though. You need to make sure the surface is clean though if you get dust on the glue dots its game over. Great product. As suggested dont let clients see you install or they will want to do it next time.

Just done a youtube search for easy dot. Interesting, never heard of it before. How long does it last? internal/external

Never used it externally, we use it as wall paper and for museums and art galleries etc. We have a 15m long by 4m high wall that is in a hotel and we did it three years ago. It still looks ok.

We have just done 8 floors of a building in London using Easydot – we use 1000’s of square meters a year. Brilliant solution to many situations [emoji106]

Did you gentlemen laminated this easy dot vinyl?

It’s for temporary use so you shouldn’t need to laminate

We dont for wall paper jobs as we print on a latex and it’s pretty scratch resistant. I would if I was putting in a floor though.

If it’s only for 6 days, I wouldn’t laminate! It comes in gloss or matte finish. Please let me know.how long it takes you to install. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Used easy dot before and all the dots could be seen on the face of the print. I had to reprint at my expense. Was less then impressed. Should I try it again? Was dry tac the one I used. Unlamented if I remember correctly
