  • How much would you pay for a second hand SP300

Posted by Jason Davies on 4 June 2008 at 21:54

I have been asked if I am interested in buying an sp300, it hasn’t been used a lot, was just thinking about buying it as a backup to our VP, as per my question what would you consider to be a fair price, I know I can buy a new one for £6K, I was thinking £3-4K would be a fair price or am I way out.

is the vp overworked, my experience is that the roland machines are so reliable a back up is not worth it, unless you can keep both machines turning over reasonably.

Hi Chris, just thinking if we can spread the load a bit and if the machine is at the right price maybe worth an investment.

I think a backup is always a good idea – if you have the work to justify it, although that doesn’t necessarily mean that they should both be working full time.

I think reliability is of paramount importance, and with another machine you need never be out of production and let a customer down.

No idea on value though – sorry.

I’d say about £4k, that’s roughly what I paid for mine

Great machines to pick up second hand if you can find one

I would say around £4K would be right – it would depend though on when it was last serviced, when were the heads last changed etc…

Would try to get one nearer to 3k than 4k , Unless you buy one that comes with a decent warranty.

    Hi There,

A new VP-300 for £6k ? am surprised by that , however most dealers who part exchange will have one on their books or a well priced ex-demo.

Good luck .. you are right about being reliable though.

    Regards
