OK so it’s the same old song, but i got a gut feeling I have messed up on this one (will post my quote later so as not to influence ideas)

Chinese Take away just been taken over by new owners that don’t like the yellow sign panels (in panatrim)

    1. 2 trips to take pics of shop & do sample layout

    2. Remove yellow foamex from frames

    3. Supply white panels & fit into existing panatrim 16′ x 24″

    4. No confirmed layout as yet, but guessing at a couple of chinese symbols & plain text

    What would you quote ????

    Pleeeeease 😀 😀 😀

200 to 280 depending on how far away …how fancy the logo…how high and whether the frame needs repairs etc.
    cheers

    Thanks Lads,

    I qouted £250.

No repairs to do to the frame & it’s not too high. It is sort of enclosed though so I can see a lot of tricky wriggling to get the panels out & in (plus, knowing the customer i will have to do several trips with modified designs !). Only 12 miles from home so not too bad.

They havn’t called for a few days so thought maybe I overpriced it a bit (?) (?) (?)

    Oh well. . . .. back to work 🙂

    Thanks

    John

I would’ve said 200-250 pounds as well (depending on how many trips and how long it would take to fit) so I don’t think you’ve overpriced it either.

Put it this way – If someone is prepared to do it for less – let them. That’ll keep them busy tied up doing unprofitable work while you can concentrate on getting the good jobs to do 😀

so the general idea is that I didn’t try to rip off the customer 😀

    Good 🙂

    wise words Phil 😉

My guess is that you will drive past in the next few weeks and see it all done and dusted.
I do work around New Malden where there is a density of Chinese and Korean.
They DO shop around and WILL take the cheapest quote 9/10 times.

    Peter,

I am sure you are right !

But, I have also done quite a bit of work for them & I also know they will do their best to be a pain in the rear. If it had been a non fast food shop, I might have trimmed it a bit, but I get fed up going over & over the same layout making minimal alterations & then getting asked for discounts afterwards ! Amazes me just how good they understand english one day & not at all the next 😉

I’ve done some work for fast food places and I have to agree with Peter on this one, even though you have done work for them in the past Sparky they always seem to get quotes from other people. Its funny really they are happy to spend £10 in petrol to save £5 on their sign.
