  • How many ways can you do a Wheel Cover

Posted by Andrew Bennett on 18 February 2007 at 13:29

Being as it’s a Sunday I was just surfing and came across a site that Tie Dyed 4 x 4 wheel covers and it got me to thinking How did they do that?
I know the theoretical processes for a digi-print. a cover with vinyl on it, a screen print and by an airbrush.

But how does one tie dye a wheel cover?
Is it screen printers ink and some paint rollers or do they actually tie it up in different ways and dip it in various differing screen print inks?

Perhaps it’s a stupid question to some but hey it’s Sunday.

How is it done and what other ways are there of doing a wheel cover without using vinyl?

the description says elastic cord on back, maybe it’s just made of cotton or t-shirt type material.

These warm weather Jeep half tops are totally cool! They are translucent polyester and are custom printed with brilliantly colored photo-realistic images. Custom-printed hold-down straps complement each top. Because they are a translucent material, they light up in the sun. You’ll got lots of attention from everyone who catches a glimpse of it. Inside your Jeep, it will look like you have a stained glass window overhead. The half tops are easy to install so long as you choose the right size for your Jeep. Matching spare tire covers also available.

Yes the half tops (i.e removable roofs) are custom printed.
I still have visions of old red indian women using natural dyes to make amazing pictures that just happen to resemble album covers by the gratefull dead( music group not a cemetary)
