  • How do you fill up ink in new dampers?

Posted by Jamie Dale on 7 September 2011 at 19:14

    Hi guys,

First time i’ve ever replaced the dampers on this machine myself (XC-540) , when I go to fill up within the service menu I cannot get these to full up again. I’ve done channel B which is Y and K, I’ve got Only 1 line filling up correctly for the Y, and the other is still empty.

Does anyone know why this would be? Or is there a special way to attach the new dampers that i’ve done wrongly?

    Thanks guys,

    Jamie

i use a syringe on the pipe that comes from the base of the capping station. Draw it back slowly & you will see ink flow down the lines, if you get no resistance then the capping station isn’t sealing

thank god… figured out the problem today :).. the caps were blocked with dried ink as it wasn’t sealing correctly… that’s why there was alot of resistance as the suction of the pump wouldn’t be able to draw the ink through the lines due to the clogged cap… such a simple problem for a change woohoo!!

    🙂

    Hi,
I have 2 of these machine running here. please replace the caps every 6-8 months. you will not have any problems specially if you have the original ink in the printer.

    good luck..
