  • How do i stop media flanges coming off??

Posted by Soyeb Ravat on 7 December 2009 at 12:16

I have noticed that when using heavy rolls on my versacamm, sometimes what tends to happen is media flanges just pop off on either side while printing. A great problem if printing unattended. Is there a reason why this is happening and can i do something about it??

    thanks guys 🙄

    Do them up tighter?

Clean the rubber with some meths or similar to make it grippy?

Make sure when you load the vinyl onto the rollers on the back of the machine that the flanges are pushed right in, give them a tap. Then push the two white locking rings up to the outside edge of the flanges, that should keep them on the straight and narrow.

Also check that the plastic inside is intact, ours snapped after our young lad did them overtight – I think with a scaffold bar and adjustable spanner 🙄

sounds like you have the old ones. which are all plastic.
roland do a new type with a rubber gripper that can be tightened.

but you still need to use the white movement collars on the roll carriers
