The security on my computer is paramount, I use it for my living, therefore i only access websites that are also security orientated, and never reduce my settings, to accommodate a risk of invasion. ever since the internet started I have never caught a virus or had a hacker problem.(touch wood) am I paranoid?

Hi peter, I don’t think you are being paranoid at all, with the crap and idiots floating around the net, you need the maximum protection you can find
I used zone Alarm for just over 2 years, and it will successfully block all unwanted entry, except, most of us set it up to block everything using the default settings. But unless you tell zone alarm, it cannot differentiate between so called friendly access and unfreindly (viruses, trojans ,worms etc) especially where ads and active code are concerened, such as active scripts and java scripts.

    Try this:

Click on PRIVACY in Zone alarm, and if the Ad blocking slider is set to maximum, try moving to Medium or off and see what happens, usually Medium is quite sufficient, and still gives you a high level of security.

If you want to keep the Ad blocking slider to its maximum setting, then you will have to create a rule that only allows access between your computer and the UKSB web site. This is accessed throught he Expert Tab, with a rule created, everything is fully protected as before, but allowing access to traffic based on the IP address of the source or destination.

When in the expert section click on help for full instructions for setting up

    Hope this helps

    Lee
