  • how do i remove VHB bonded letters from a fascia?

Posted by Dorian Marks on 12 March 2007 at 10:41

The scenario is that we applied 10mm foam letters with a 3mm aluminium face directly to a timber fascia of a shop that our client was renting. They are fixed with VHB and have been in place about 1 year. The client has now moved premises and wants to lift their signs from their existing location and move them to the new place.

Anybody got any ideas how to do this with a minimum of damage either to the shop or fascia?

    Thanks

    H

Try getting some fishing line and saw through it with that or if you can get it lock wire or cheese wire.

I’d second that advice. Fishing line works a treat. Wear gloves though, coz it can also cut thru your skin like butter 🙁

FIRST – let them know that this is VERY HIGH bond tape, you will not be responsible for breakages!!!…if any DO break you could use it as an opportunity to sell them another sign.
