  • How do i make rub on transfers

Posted by Phil hooner on 10 June 2007 at 20:57

Hi all i have been asked to make transfers for a modeling club, they are looking for the type that you put on to the subject rub the back with a coin or similar and the logo is then transferred onto the item required.
I have seen similar items for sale in craft shops over the years but now need to make my own anyone have any idea how i would go about this.

    Thanks Phil

    Hi Phil

It depends how many you have to do. If you are only doing short runs try this

    http://craftycomputerpaper.co.uk/Dry%20Decals%20product%20page.htm

The water slide ones are better I feel, I have used that for modelling stuff.

    There’s also this http://www.pulsarprofx.com/DecalPRO/Ver … rview.html

Never used it so I can’t comment on how good they are etc.
If you do try it let use know how you get on.

    Hi Phil

Did you try that link that Stephen left? I was wondering have you found a supplier in the UK?

I did look at the site and some of their on-line videos were quite informative, but i have ordered the dry decal sheets from the UK site listed above that one will hopefully have them to try out by the weekend.
i will let you know what the results are like.

    Phil
