  • How do i get rid of white background on a jpeg?

Posted by Ewan Chrystal on 20 November 2014 at 18:07

This is annoying me cause i’ve done it before. I’ve edited an image in PS to make the background transparent but when i import to flexisign the white background is there. What am i doing wrong. I know its something simple i just can’t think what it is?

    Thanks in advance

sounds like you have a version of Flexi that doesn’t support transparent background. You have two options in flexi, use magic wand, go to bitmap menu, invert marquee, convert marquee to shape now select bitmap & shape and mask.

Tip you can edit the shape if need be before masking, or you can inline by .1mm this can help give nice clean shape.

Subject to Flexi version in Bitmap menu you have "make transparent magic wand"

    Hope this helps

Bear in mind that if you create a transparent background then export the file as a jpg the background will no longer be clear because JPG’s do not support a transparent background.

Export your file as a GIF or PNG files if you want to preserve the transparent backround

As Phil says, I presumed you where saving as Photoshop file which Flexi will open directly with transparent background subject to Flexi version
