Like most signmakers i too have a dibond sign to fix to a facia without a frame.(customer request).
The facia is sound no rotting etc..may sound a daft question but what is the best type of fixing and what size/length..is their also a posting on the boards for "fixings" of various jobs..oh yes..and while i’m thinking about this do you guy have fitters and what do they charge or do most of you
    fit yourselves..
    Thanks in advance
    Jon

Jon how you fix it will be down to what it is being fitted to, bit more detail would help ie: brick wall, cladding etc.

I don’t like to see fixings through the front face of a sign so I normally make the di-bond panels into sign trays.

thanks Martin for a quick reply..
It’s to be fitted into an existing wooden face which had a sign fixed into
but has now been removed..Looks like mdf about 15mm.
I want to fix the new sign back onto the wooden board again..
    no rotting present.

    thanks

What sort of size is it Jon, if its not to big then I would just be inclined to use a good quality VHB tape with maybe a couple of runs of structural adhesive.
You could also fix arount the edges with normal screws and then fit a trim/beading over the top to finish the job off and hide the screw heads.

As for you earlier post I fit everything myself, there are a couple of company’s I know of that do installations but there not that local so with traveling they tend to be a bit expensive.
Theres companys on the boards of all sizes so some will have there own fitting teams, some will use a sub contract fitter and some like me will fit themselves.

    Hi
    Again
It’s 12′ x 4′. Ive suggested to fix some frame to it just to give it a finished look. I suppose the more signs you fit the better you get and the more confident you become in fitting. im trying to compile a worksheet/reference sheet regarding fixngs and materials as a reminder
of what i should be using. Ive read with interest some of the demos Rob has done whilst fixing signs to corrugated units etc and the type of fixngs he uses..It’s just trying to get the job done right and safe.

    cheers
    Jon 😀
