  • how do i enlarge this logo correctly?

    Posted by David_Evans on 28 October 2007 at 21:55

    Hi,
Ive been given this image as part of a psd. The problem is it is only around 4x2cm at pretty good resolution but the client want it printing at 700mm tall. Obviously at this size i would be heavily pixellated so i need to redraw in vector can anyone shed any light on how i might do this as normally only design for cut vinyl so have no idea where to start. i use illustrator.

    All help greatly received.

    Dave

looks like its been designed in Photoshop using plugins, so probably best to redraw in Photoshop at a larger size. Alternatively you may be able to get a good result with something like Photozoom.

    Kev,
My photoshop skill are pretty poor so will have a look at the photozoom thing. If the client has the original photoshop file is it just a case of resizing it or will it have to be redrawn at the size i require?

not that conversant with PS myself, but use the plugins within Flexi. Do you have the original font etc

    Kev,
I have the original psd they sent me. And have no probs opening it so a assume its not a font.

Photozoom wouldn’t give an appropriate result with such a small image being blown up to such a large size. Ask your client for a higher resolution version or you might have to rebuild from scratch, which wouldn’t be easy.

Yeh, you really need a better original.

I just blew it up to 700mm (resampled image too)…pretty poor original to work with so end result is a bit dodgy!

can duplicate the effect if you can supply font or vector etc, took 2 mins with plugin. Can make it a harder bevel etc
