  • how do i do an illuminated sign on the roof of a car?

    Hi to all,

I have to produce a sign on the picture below, 5 pieces.
My first idea was to use a tube to illuminate. Is there any issue whit power supply from the car? I think, in a car there´s a 12V output and normally when wall-mounted I use a 230V output.

    Thanks.

Try a caravan shop, they use 12v tubes for lighting and use very little power

Peter, thank you for the good idea.

My father just mentioned an another issue – how to place the sign strong enough to the roof rack, so the sign can handle the speed of the car up to 130 km/h.

And what about guarantee? Does it make a sense to cut the guarantee to a specific speed about 50 km/h?

I seriously think about to revoke the job. I just need to think about all the problems I probably get, when a sign come off the roof and cause a harm…

if you mount them as shown in the picture, it should not be a problem,
in england our learner driver cars have magnetic top signs, perhaps you could adapt them for your purpose? http://www.autosox.com/ I did a search and this is just for reference, never used this company
