how do i create this image from vinyl?
Posted by niceguyed on 1 September 2005 at 21:26I would like some extremely basic instruction on how to create this image from vinyl. It is 2 colors. Have no idea how to approach this.
http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/search/ … d_id=86361
Step 1 through step ? Explained if possible. If there is a demo of it on this site please post a link.
Thanks again!

This image is actually three colors. Take the file save it to disk, open a new page in flexi and right click on the screen. Import the file you just saved and it will come onto the screen. You will have to then ungroup the file and delete the outer box that seems to come with the files from Brands of the world. Select the what is left, the black, orange and white, and go to the top and select cut. The program manager will have each color listed on the right. Click each color in the order you have them loaded into the cutter. If you have orange loaded, select the orange box and cut out the orange piece. You will have to do the same with the other colors.
Play around with the software, I have found that I learn more doing things the wrong way and figuring out the correct way than I do with people telling me how to do things.

Once all 3 pieces are cut, how do I put them together the way they are suppose to go. Which color goes first second and third and what is the process to complete it. I have never done this before.
Thanks

Check out this video for layering. The colors have to be layed down in the order they appear on the screen. Black first, then orange, then white.

no offence ment, but adding a line is pretty basic stuff.
you should see a square or round icon on the left hand side, just click on this and draw a shape in the work space, you might need to right click on the shape icon to change it to the correct shape to draw.
you should have help files somewhere in the program, these should tell you what you need to know.
you need to check out all the icons to see what they do. put shom text and shapes on the workarea and click on everything and see how it changes things.
its very fustrating when you get a nerw program, but stick with it and soon it`ll become second nature.

I watched the layering demo from that think and I have seen that before. He did the final installation of the bulls-eye. I need to put the logo together and then go install it on a glass window… How do I go about doing that?
Thanks for your patience!

layer it ON whatever you’re sticking too whenever possible, if you layer it first then stick it on, little bubbles can easily escape squeegeeing because of the different layers being different levels
If it’s inescapable, then use a soft squeegee and pay close attention to any “ridges” you have.
on glass… hmm, you’d have to do it in 3 layers (if it was a white background then you could fretcut the black/orange and leave the white showing through.
if it’s reverse you’re going to have to put the white on first, then orange, then balck (use the registration tips from this site to make it quick).
If you’re not confident enough to do it dry, pay particular attention to where each layer ends, because you’ll have a small gap where water WILL collect, after the graphic has dried a little, poke a teeny hole in it with a pin/craft knife, and try and squeegee the water/air out, if it needs more drying time, wait longer, and repeat.
