  • how do i attach Stainless Steel Built Ups onto window?

    Hi Guys

We need to bond stainless steel built up letters to a large window.
They need to be viewed from both sides so the client doesn’t want it to look to messy from the inside.
The glue therefore needs to be pretty clear.

Has anyone had a similar requirement?
Could do with some advice on a good product

    Cheers

    Tim

The back of a built up stainless letter is messy anyway,
We normally get a set of flat cut stainless reverse cut and use VHB to stick on the inside and have bridges soldered onto the Builtup letters and vhb them on to.

    Thanks Ian

VHB – is that "Very High Bond" tape?
We’ve found ds tape to be rubbish in most applications in the past.
We had one supplier promise that he would eat it if it didn’t stick small ali signs to glass. We’ve sent it back with some pepper and salt!

    Thanks Ian

    I’ll get a spec sheet from 3M.
Like the idea of reverse flat cut on the inside too.
The punter could literally have any colour.
Funny how the simple solutions like that escape you sometime isn’t it? 😳

    Yes Mike

    Sky’s the limit really.
Like I said, it’s funny how the simple solutions often escape you isn’t it?
