  • How can I make LED signs brighter?

Posted by Martin Manley on 8 December 2011 at 18:06

Recently made some illuminated menus for local chippy – needed to be very slimline so LEDs the only answer. Unfortunatley they are bright round the edges but dull at centre. Other than fitting V-grooved acrylic sheets behind each one (and therefore losing all my profit), does anyone have any other ideas on how to spread light more evenly….?

    Cheers

The last lot of 3d lettering we had made, the leds were on a clear persex base, and pointing to the inside of the letter, when we asked why it was to give a more even glow, as it gave better light bouncing back.

we were also advised to put a piece of white vinyl on the sign for the light to reflect onto..

Don’t use chrome…use white as it diffuses better
