  • How are pin stripes manufactured

    Hi everyone.

At the moment we reproduce certain decals for a specialist supplier. We have no problem, creating the artwork and printing them, but now the customer has inquired about matching pinstripes.

Most of the pin stripes are a 2 colour stripe, of various thicknesses and gaps between.

The customer is a good one, and I would like to keep him.

Does anyone know how they are made. They have a very thin application film applied.

Any help greatly received. I realise we might have to buy some sort of machine. I`ve looked at roll slitters, but not seen 1 suitable for our needs.

    Thanks chaps.

I have already seen both items (having spent 2 hrs googling my heart out)

Both machines would produce a single stripe,

but I am after producing a twin stripe, of 2 different colours with an application tape applied in rolls of 10metres.

I am sure Simon at E-Thorne have a slitting machine as when he last delivered here I had a long chat with him about what they do.

They cut down rolls of tape, 1000m rolls, slit down onto shorter 25m rolls.

    Might be worth a call?

    Hi Denise.
Many moons ago, we used to use 3M Pinstriping products for this purpose. I have found many references to these online, but none will open. Have a look at this company which offers custom or standard versions in 50 yard rolls…

From experience, I think that it would be worth getting what you need from here rather than trying to do the double colours yourself…

hit up spandex for one of their striping swatches, they may have what your looking for in their autocal range.
