Hi there all just thought I ought to introduce myself my name is paul and I run signworx In sunny south yorkshire although theres another signworx here so I had to put an s on the end of mine. I’ve been in the trade longer than I care to remember but suffice to say the best computer you could buy when I started was an acorn electron. I teach signwork at doncaster college and have been working from home of late but all that is about to change cos I’ve just got the keys to a new unit and am moving this weekend a daunting thought at my age but there you go. My main area of interest is gilding, graining and marbling though i do like the challenge of a multi coloured vinyl job and preferably one that involves sign gold. there are lots of faces here that i know and looking forward to meeting lots more, also hope to learn things and hopefully help others where i can.

    See you in the boards
    paul.

Hi Paul, I for one would love to learn more about the type of work you do and how you do it.
So pull up that chair and dive right in, your more than welcome aboard.

Hopefully I’ll also be getting a workspace soon, so I know that feeling of trepidation your having.

    Good luck

    Hi and welcome Paul,

Best of luck with the new unit. You sound like an experienced chap, so you’ll no doubt make the unti more than pay for itself. I look forward to hearing more about it and the type of signwork you do! 😀

    Cheers, Dewi

    Hi Paul

Great to have you on board!

We have quite a few traditional signwriters here as you probably know

Actually there have been enquiries from newbies to the trade about traditional methods. So who knows maybe we’ll see day course seminars being set up on the board!!! (-)
