I have been reading the articles on this site for a while now and I have finally posted a topic. this site is a really great and helpful site it good to see that there is a big, friendly and helpfull sign community out there. Robert Lambie you doing a superb job with this site, welldone.
Okay let me tell you a bit about my self. I am a young man aged 22, I used to work for a printing company in zimbabwe that used to cut vinyl signs once in a while we never used to maket the sign section.
I have a plotter a summa d60 which i have never used for about 4 months i wanted to start up a bussines part time cutting signs but i lack experence and confidence.
I am looking for a company that could employ me learn(i am a very hard worker and see my self as an asset to my employer) or some advice on laying vinyl, sourcing clients and getting supplies.

Hello Roland,
Welcome to the uksignboards!, you couldnt have found a better place to learn about absolutley every aspect of the sign industry. Im probably one of the least experienced members here, but my advice would be to have a good look through the demo’s here, get some vinyl and just have a practice!

Welcome to the boards, as Lawerence has said Im sure you will be able to find loads of info throughout here to help you on your way to laying vinyl. 😀 Just have a browse through every section, read up on all the oldie posts & you’ll be a half mind of sign knowledge by the end I’m sure 😀

Why Ratz signs as a matter of interest – it’s ceratinly a novel one!
Post a question or two – the locals don’t bite!
There used to be a chap on this board who did run training sessions, Mike something or other – but I don’t think he is around any more. Others may be able to point you to someone like him who still do training.
There are quite a few threads on materials suppliers, we each have our favourites.
