hi we have just bought a second user summa d60 se withoptical eye i seen it working on the blokes rip software and fancy printer ive even seen my freind in wales use a graphtec to cut out stuff printed on his oki laser printer with the eye so thought cool we will get one with eye and this summa came available

any way ive spent 2 days and i cant get it to work
im opening page in flexisign 7.5 v2 pro and adding 3-5mm black squares as it the summa pdf says to do i then add my design print it out on my hp z2100 [this is a poster printer i no we se it for canvas prints but its just to get things working then ill think of new printer ]

so we print it put back incutter and tell it to cut with opus barcode ect
it says place over first square so we do then press enter t goes up the page and back then down a fraction more and goes bazeerk and sys error
is there any way to add reg marks with flexisign automatically?
or even corel as i could use corel and win plot
i have corel 11 but im sure i can get x3 aswell

thanks in advance hope that was understandable

I use Corel and put 3mm black squares around the objects you must know the distance between the horizontal and vertical. I use Winplot/cut which came with the Summa but I think it is downloadable from the Summa site, on installation it will place a button in Corel Draw. You can use this to cut anything from Draw but for contour cutting you only send the contour shape, it has a button for opos cutter from there follow instructions on your cutter dispay. Did you get the Summa cutter control programme? this enables setting – velocity/weight etc to be done on screen and then sent to the plotter.

a few dauys messing about and a few freinds trying and we cracked it
for tyhose of u who get same problems scrap flexisign still cant do it with that but in corel u need printer tools installed as well and that gives u 2 extra buttons one for reg marks and 1 to go to winplot an dfrom winplot u clikc cut and place laser over first mark

and for those who do all that and it still dont work
the fix is hit the reset button and clear all settings

we got it from a guy who had a company install a big printer on it this must have set somet up to use with the rip software a sit works perfect with rip but not cutter alone
so afte rgetting very fed up i hit reset and that wa sthat worked a treat

next problem is how do u get an outline around an image

To get an outline (contour cut line for printed images in Corel X3) In some instances this can be done by going to Powertrace and sliding the detail slider to the left may get rid of unwanted shapes, merge colours to get same colour, you may end up with 1 or 2 but you can weld these later other than that it is manual I’m afraid – not as slick as Signlab’s but effective on some images.
