    Hi folks,

I use signlab7 and a cadet machine and have no problems printing and contour cutting in general. My problem is that I want to print an image, laminate it and then contour cut it. I can not get it to do this, it either cuts straight after the print or does not cut at all.. any help appreciated.
    Cheers

when you say it cuts straight after the printing mate, do you mean you want a pause? i know this is easy enough in troop, but not sure if signlab has that feature.

in the roland rip it works very well once you have got your head round it and use it almost every day.

you print with the cutter off and with reg marks on
the rip saves the cut path as a separate file
    laminate and replace find marks
then send the saved cut path remembering to reset the knife pressure etc

Make sure you have the it set us like this ..

make sure the printer is set to print OWN REGISTRATION MARKS

make sure any knife settings show KNIFE WITH CROPMARKS
check for a setting that shows print know cut later.

In the job list right click and select print, do the print, make sure you pull extra through before sheeting off, laminate. align the black round dots just slighty before the cutting strip when you replace into the cutter. The job in the job list will show HOLDING ( READY FOR CUTTING) select cut . The printer should now find all four crop marks and start cutting.

make sure you have slowed the speed down and upped the pressure. after laminating it is quit a lot thicker.

It also helps if you are printing lots of labels to break the job into managebel lenghts say a 1-2 metres or so. Dont sheet off the print jus t keep printing one set after another. means if things go pear shaped laminating or the cutter runs out of alignment it is recoverable and doesnt require re printing the whole job.

Very important you have the latest patch from signlab. A majort bug will not allow you to print and cut when using the decal multi print selection, it all works fine, but the cutter will fail to find the second alignment mark. Very frustrating….

    Hope that helps,
