Help with parts for encad cadjet printer A0
Hi every one hope you all have a fab Xmas.
As said before thanks to help and information from you all, i now have my own little shop doing t shirt printing and other bits.
I have acquired a encad cadjet 2 A0 printer to go along with my stuff but this needs a new belt which has broken does anyone know were i can get this part or a cross match with another make.
it all starts up fine and shows no other problems

Hi Tracey, not quite sure what you want to do with this printer but I wouldn’t go spending a lot of money on it as I think you will be very disappointed with the end results it produces.
colourgen use to support encad in the UK but the were always very expensive to deal with. Not sure if they still offer any support now. You could always try kodak as they took encad over a number of years ago.
Your best bet might be these people in the States. I have used them in the past when they had a different name and they were always very helpful and seemed to have the most reasonable prices.

Tracey, I’m not trying to put you off, maybe you have a use for it but I would hate to see you spend quite a bit of money only to find it won’t do what you want. The other problem you may have is buying inks for it so do some homework before you go spending to much money. You can find a bit more info on encad printers here but not sure if they go back as far as yours.

thanks martin for reply, do you mean it is not a good printer just wanted to expand into copy photo’s to posters.for gifts etc, am i best ditching it and saving my money thanks Tracey 🙁

Tracey, like I said you are really the only one who can decide but just remember that this is only a 300 dpi printer so the resolution is not great to start with, if you read that review on encad machines one thing that is mentioned is that images appear grainy because the lexmark printheads they use are just not good enough and encad don’t have descend dithering software. Apparently they are also prone to clogging as well.
If you can fix it without spending to much money then it might be worth it just so you could test it and if it wasn’t good enough for you then you might be able to sell it as a working machine.
