Help with increasing cutpasses and doing a tracktest
Posted by Phillip Patterson on 6 June 2011 at 12:48Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has winplot or summa cutter tools and know of how to increase cutpasses and do a tracktest. I have seen it done on one of the you tube videos so know that it can be done.
Hope you can help.
thank you

You can adjust the knife pressure and carry out a test cut using your machines (summa?) local panel if that’s what you mean?
-
no phill i can do that. what i want to do is find a way of adding another cut pass on an artwork. so for example, the letter A with 2 cutpasses will cut twice. basic on the rolands but not on the summas.
-
you could tell it to return to start and send the file again.
-
Surely all you need do is copy the artwork and paste it directly on top of the original?
-
yes phill but i forget to remove it and wonder why it cuts twice next time.
-
I agree with Phil….just duplicate the artwork on top of the original and make sure both copies are sent through together
I’ve got to ask why though ??

thanks ever so much for your replies as this has really been bugging me!!!
for my roland, in versaworks this is just a standard option, i think on the printer options too. I was a little disappointed when i could’nt find it on my summa as i would expect a better standard and more comprehensive options as it is a good piece of kit and secondly its a standalone cutter.
i’m hopeing to cut thick materials such as card, reflectivs and sandblast so its good to be able to pass twice, rather then have too much pressure and cut once.
