Hi newbie here!! I’ve recently switched from this vinyl as I didn’t think it was too great. A pleasure to work with but when it came to flood filling(covering an area with one piece??) it didnt work well, Or when applying highlights to letters it seemed to take nothing at all for the sharp edges to come away. Has anyone else had this trouble?

I am now using oracle 751c and i cant seem to really get the hang of if. When applying wet(big words) I clean the panel with panel wipe, Wet just a little with plain water, Line the sticker up, Squeggee with oracle grey rubber type, Then i come to removing the app tape and it starts to lift a liitle meaning I have to go all over it again with a Squeegee. The vehicles are inside with very little heat. (vans and lorries) HELP…What can I do??

    Regards Kev

    Kev,

They won’t stick if you have put water under them. That’s the whole point of wet application.

You have either got to give them time to dry out and the adhesive to work, or you have got to apply them dry.

    quote Kev Dunn:

    Hi newbie here!!

New to signs or to the sight or both?

I’m taking it your new to signs graphics etc.
In which case it comes down to practice and not in my opinion blaming the vinyl.

I also use a lot of 2/300 series from Grafityp and have had no trouble over the years flood fills no probs.
Also sharp corners will lift if caught with most vinyls.

With wet application you will learn when you are able to remove app tape without letters coming away.
Try practicing doing them dry much better option.

    Hope this helps

    Martin

    Hi guys,

I’m new to the site. Been doing stickers for around 2.5 years.

With Grafitack 200/300 i put on dry.

I’m not blaming any vinyl as each have their own characteristics(sp).

    Regards

    Kev

    Hi Kev
Have you tried wetting the app tape.

Also I found that using a lower tack app tape worked for me as i also use 751c.

I’m no expert by any means but this is what I have found.

I am now trying to master the art off dry application as I find in colder weather multi colour/layer jobs take forever.

    Geo.
