  • Help sourcing supplier of gold foil digital prints, please?

Good afternoon. I have put a post in the members quotes section, but I thought i’d also ask ‘out here’ …….

Does anyone know of someone who can supply gold foil prints onto clear self-adhesive.
We used to use a local company, but unfortunately their printer no longer works.

    The prints we’ll need this time are 775mm x 1285mm & 310mm x 570mm.

Cheers in advance for any help.

i would imagine you would need someone with a thermal printer like a Roland or Gerber edge but at that width im guessing a Summa DC3 type printer.

Could you not print directly to a cast chrome/gold and contour cut or does it have to be on a clear film?

alternative, what about a metalic print finish? the roland machines will do that but its not termed as chrome/mirror finish as such. if thats acceptable, maybe james sahota at group101 can help as i know he is a heavy roland user so may have the required machine and is a trade print service to uksg members.

    Hi Robert.

We’ve sorted it now with the help of one of your very helpful members. They’re going to print in sections on their Gerber Edge and we’ll piece it together.

The final print is polished gold text onto a clear vinyl panel. Had to do this the same as it was being applied right next to one of our previous installations.

Cheers for the info though. UKSB at it’s best !!

    Rob,

    Thanks for the mention again.

Yes one of our roland is set to print metallic ink and to be fair when your using the metallic swatch provided by Roland you do get some really nice results.

I’m not sure entirely if this is what Adrian is after…

Never the less glad he got it sorted in the end.
