  • Help sourcing Sign Fixing Bracket Please?

Posted by David Hammond on 23 June 2014 at 17:01

We recently replaced a sign on a large warehouse and re-used the existing metal fixings.

The metal fixings were kind of ‘C’ shaped and fitted around the bundle of armored cables, making the sign stand off the wall about 6 inches, and then box in the sign top and bottom.

The install went OK, but the company next door want the same, except they’ve no brackets to re-use.

Are these a custom made job, or is there an off the shelf size bracket supplier?

universal sign systems will do them…
to be honest, maybe even Amari if i right…
they are a sort of standard extrusion that are chop sawed to form these brackets.

thats IF i am correct with the ones i have in mind. 😀

similar idea to the one ive attached david?

Hard to explain and I didn’t take any photo’s of the one’s on the last job.

It was almost like a 2inch wide piece of 5mm steel? 400mm high that bolted to the wall then bent to project away from the wall 100mm, then two 2inch short pieces facing up/down towards the centre where a sign could be fixed to it.

Hard to explain. I will try and find a pic or draw one tomorrow.

Kind of like the attached. But only 2inches wide, much taller.

It enables the cables to run inside the gap, and fix angle between the brackets spaced and fix a sign tray in the usual way, then box off top/bottom/sides, or maybe even get large returns on the tray.

    steel….
hhhmmm sounds just like a sort of conduit for cables david.
    comes in steel, galvanised etc

again, im guessing and maybe wrong but i can see it in my head. but would have thought of that for a projecting fixing bracket?

    That’s the one Kev.

Thought it would be a stock item, not built to size for each sign.

    Thanks!
