  • Help sourcing a supplier of Matte Grey Wrap vinyl please?

I’m after a matte grey, but both Spandex and William Smith no longer stock 3M’s 85 series due to it being pulled from production.
Hexis don’t have one yet, and Avery have one but I can’t even get a sample from Spandex to see it. APA seems to be the only one I have found that’s close to a grey.

Can anyone recommend any where to get a matte grey cast for wrapping?

William Smith doesn’t have 85 series because as you said it’s no longer available but they have new one 1080 series, and the same what spandex offer.

Thanks Jim, sample is in the post, thought its not a cast wrap material so might not be for this job.

    What series is it Richard???

I am not saying it won’t do the job but if it is the VWS1 series then I would buy a couple of metres & play with it before you take on any sort of wrap with it if you are not familiar with the material.

If your wrap experience is all with films like 85 series then you may well struggle with this film.

The 1080 series is a matt silver so im told. Ive just ordered a sample as a customer wants his car wrapped in matt grey but ive been told that the 1080 is more of a grey than silver.

Never used the 1080 series before only the 85.

    Hi all,

Does anyone have a picture of the Avery YM16SWF Supreme Wrapping vinyl in Matt Grey?

I cant get hold of a sample anywhere not even from my supplier.

I would like to cross reference it with the 3M Matt Silver 1080 series.

    Cheers,

    Gareth

I’ve not used any VWS before, only grafityp printed wrap vinyl, avery 1080 and hexis recently, so I may just do that, thanks.

I had the same problem Gareth, and only had a sample by a supplier cutting a piece from a swatch they had! Attached is a photo showing the colour if that helps.
