  • Help required wrapping vinyl ID & advice?

    Hello
I do not normally do vehicle wraps, but have been asked to quote a few vans.
The vinyl information supplied by my client is as follows, Lemon Dab 1418,
What I would like to know is, Do you get solid colors of wrapping vinyl, or does or all have to be printed, I have been told that these vehicles are reflective, The design also has a silver band across the middle and again I have been informed that this is also reflective. Do suppliers supply reflective wrapping vinyls in this form

    Thanks

I would say NO, you cannot get reflective wrapping vinyl.
I say that in that fashion because there are so many new products coming out daily… so you never know. but ide say NO.

I have used a reflective some years ago which was extremely temperamental to work with but you could manipulate it very easy to wrap/form into the areas required. you can see where i used it in this old demo. not one failed!

i think the reference he is giving you is for the colour as oppssed to brand.
the brand of wrap is important for various reasons when wrapping, not just for colour match.

several suppliers do solid colour flood coat wrap films. ive began using the new 3M 85 series which is almost too forgiving. very easy to work with but be sure to follow the application spec by the book. just because you get it on, doesnt mean alls well. plenty squeegee pressure and heat curing once done.

could your client have Reflective mixed up with Metalic?

    Thanks Rob
Not too sure about, them getting reflective and metalic mixed up, I was told that the Carlisle depot has got two of these vehicles all done, I will probably have to go down and see them, and yes the Lemon Dab 1418 is the colour refrence I just wondered if it was an "off the shelf" colour, or if it would need printing, then all this about reflective,,,,,,,I know that you can get a digital printing reflective in white as my mate owns M8 recovery and has had Green Flag wagons done down south with the chevy’s printed onto this reflective in the green flag green, I thought/think this may be the case with the Lemon Dab

Another question, Were up here is a good place to buy all the kit you have for wrapping, in your tool box.

yeh your right mate, ive used quit a bit of the digital reflective, but not for wrapping.

Maybe one of the suppliers that use the boards can add to this?
